Table games

What it is

Play 🎱 8-Ball Pool, 🌰 Ayo Olopon, 🃏 Whot!, 🎲 Ludo and ♟️ Chess against other players. You can play for game money or choose a Friendly game with no stake. Snooker is the name of the venue, Ojuelegba Snooker Spot, not a game.

You can also play Lagos Letters, a crossword word-tile game, in Phone → Games. Play against the computer or with 2–4 friends at a table in Ojuelegba, Trukadero or the PH Lounge. Lagos Letters has no money stakes.

You can find the five table games at Ojuelegba Snooker Spot in Surulere, Trukadero in Abuja and Orange Room in PH. Amala Shitta and Oga Sunday Viewing Centre have Whot and Ludo. At home, you can play Whot, Ludo and Ayo with people in your house. With a guest you choose, you can also play pool, draughts and chess. You can find games anywhere in Phone → Games.

How to create a table

  1. Go to Phone → Games → Create a table.
  2. Choose a game, the number of players, and a stake per player. Whot and Ludo tables can have 2–4 players; the other games have 2. You can also choose Play a friend: @username.
  3. To invite players, search for friends by @username or name, or search for other players by @username. Select the players and tap Invite. Their seats are held for 3 minutes.
  4. Tap the button for your game and table, such as 🃏 Create for 3 · ₦5,000. Players tap Sit down to join, and their stakes are taken from them. The table waits for 30 minutes. A group table starts when it is full, or when the host taps Start now with at least 2 players.
  5. In Whot, choose Your own rules when creating a table to set house rules. You can choose 🔁 Rollover or 🔥 Stacking.
  6. Use Rematch after a game. Tap 🎲 Back to your table on the HUD to return to your table.

Rules & numbers

  • Stakes are ₦1,000 to ₦10,000,000 per player. Choose ₦0 for a Friendly.
  • The winner takes the pot, less a 5% house cut.
  • Stakes are returned after a draw, if nobody joins the table, or if a chess game is aborted. Leaving a game in progress means you lose your stake.
  • Turn timers are 40 seconds for Pool, 45 seconds for Ayo, and 30 seconds for Whot and Ludo. Missing two turns in a row loses you the game. At a group table, you are put out instead, and the last player left wins.
  • Last call adds 60 seconds to a turn that would otherwise lose you the game. You get it twice per game; it does not apply to chess.
  • Chess clocks can be set to 1–30 minutes, with 10 minutes by default. If you disconnect, your clock pauses for up to 60 seconds. After that, your opponent can tap Claim win.
  • You can be in up to 4 games at once and open up to 30 tables an hour.
  • Whot card values: 1 is Hold On, 2 is Pick Two, 5 is Pick Three, 8 is Suspension, 14 is General Market, and 20 is Whot. If the market runs out, the player with the lowest count wins.
  • Whot options include 🔁 Rollover, 🔥 Stacking, No Pick 3 (5 is a plain card), No Whot (no 20s in the deck), and Hold On: one (only the next player holds).
  • Lagos Letters uses a 15 × 15 board and 100 tiles, including 2 blanks. Each player starts with 7 tiles. Your first word must cross the centre ★. On each turn, make one line with no gaps, joining tiles already on the board. Every word made across or down must be in the word list. Letter bonuses apply before word bonuses. Playing all 7 tiles adds 50 points.
  • In Lagos Letters, you can swap tiles if at least 7 remain in the bag, or pass. The game ends when the bag is empty and someone plays all their tiles, or after three rounds with no score. The highest score wins; a tied score is a draw. Friend games have 2–4 players and 2 minutes per turn. A missed turn counts as a pass.
  • Table chat allows up to 300 characters. Voice notes can be up to 30 seconds. You can use quick lines such as “GG 🤝” and choose from 8 reactions.

Tips

  • You can play Lagos Letters against the computer without stakes.
  • At home, use 🎲 Play and choose a guest for a one-on-one game when more than one guest is in the house.
