- Busy routes can cost up to 5 times the usual fare.
- Rush hour is 6–9 AM and 4–8 PM game time. Airline fares then cost 1.5 times the usual fare.
- Pilots and cabin crew pay half price.
- Airline travel takes 20 seconds to board and 32 seconds to fly, plus any cab ride time.
Private jet
You need to own a private jet, either at home or in storage. Fuel and fees cost ₦3m for a small jet, ₦5m for a mid-size jet or ₦9m for a large jet. If you own jets of more than one size, choose which one to fly. There is no busy-route price increase. The trip takes 16 seconds, plus any cab ride time.
Chopper
A chopper flies from your city's airport to a place in another city for ₦20 trillion. The trip takes 14 seconds, plus any cab ride time to the helipad. You cannot fly to the airport the chopper leaves from.
Coaches
Motor parks are at Jibowu in Lagos, Jabi in Abuja and Waterlines in Port Harcourt. Coaches are available from GIG Mobility, ABC Transport, Peace Mass Transit, Young Shall Grow, GUO, Chisco, Libra Motors, Efex Executive and Rivers Transport (RTC). Fares change daily, from 95% to 115% of these route rates:
| Route | Usual fare |
|---|---|
| Lagos ⇄ Abuja | ₦22,000 |
| Lagos ⇄ Port Harcourt | ₦20,000 |
| Abuja ⇄ Port Harcourt | ₦21,000 |
The cheapest coach is picked first. You arrive at the other city's motor park.
| Bus | Trip time | On arrival |
|---|---|---|
| HiAce | 60 seconds | Tired and sweaty |
| Luxury coach | 70 seconds | “Cool Coach” mood |
| Night sleeper (player-owned buses) | 80 seconds | Rested, with “Slept on the Road” mood |
Night bus
The GIG door-to-door night bus costs ₦25,000, or ₦37,500 at rush hour. The trip takes about 3 hours of game time (60 seconds on screen). You arrive tired (energy −18) and sweaty (hygiene −16).
Driving
Driving your own car takes about 2½ hours (48 seconds), plus a fifth longer if you leave at rush hour. You pay for fuel for the 440 km trip; fuel costs double on a fuel-scarcity day. If your driver Sunday drives, you pay a ₦20,000 road allowance instead. You arrive tired. You cannot make the trip on a motorbike; switch cars in Phone → Cars.
After travelling by any method other than your own car, you can drive a car parked at your home in the city you arrive in.
Travel insurance
You can choose insurance for each trip. Your phone remembers your choice.
| Travel method | Insurance cost |
|---|---|
| Flight | 6% of the fare, minimum ₦5,000 |
| Jet | 5% |
| Chopper | 0.5% (₦100bn) |
| Coach or night bus | 10%, minimum ₦1,000 |
| Drive | 8% of fuel or allowance, minimum ₦5,000 |
Insurance prevents losses; it does not pay money back. Without insurance, your bag can go missing:
| Travel method or cabin | Chance of a lost bag |
|---|---|
| Economy | 1 in 7 |
| Premium Economy | 1 in 9 |
| Business | 1 in 13 |
| First Class | 1 in 17 |
| Jet | 1 in 20 |
| Chopper | 1 in 17 |
| Bus | 1 in 8 |
Replacing a lost bag costs 30% of the fare, with a minimum of ₦10,000. Bus travel also has an 8% chance of pickpocketing, which takes 8% of your cash (up to ₦300k), and a 3% chance of an ₦80,000 accident bill. Road trips have a 10% breakdown risk, an 8% chance of a ₦25,000 flat-tyre cost and a 6% chance of a ₦10,000 checkpoint fine. About 1 in 5 uninsured road trips has at least one of these costs.
Travelling together
You can invite your bae, family, close friends or people you have chatted with to travel by your jet, chopper, airline flight or car. Each invite lasts 2 minutes. Guests ride free in your jet, chopper or car; airline guests buy their own seat. Jet and flight guests land with you and continue by cab to the same place.
Tips
- You can book from home. The ticket includes the cab to the airport, and its travel time is added to boarding time.
- To save money, take the cheapest coach outside rush hour. Insurance on a ₦20,000 ticket costs little.
- If the Book button is amber, tap it to see what you need to do.
- After arriving in another city, check whether you have a car parked at your home there before choosing how to get around.
